ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) is an investments holdings company which has a primary listing on the Lusaka Stock Exchange and secondary listings on the London and Euronext Stock Exchanges. The majority of the Company’s investments are held in the copper mining sector of Zambia. The Company’s shareholders are the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) with 77% shareholding and private equity holders with 23%. Minority shareholders are spread in various locations throughout the world.
This makes ZCCM-IH a parastatal company and therefore its procurements are governed by the Public Procurement Act (PPA) of 2008 No. 12 and the Public Procurement Regulations of 2011 (SI 63).
The Act is the law relating to procurement so as to ensure transparency and accountability in public procurement; regulate and control practices relating to public procurement in order to promote the integrity of, fairness and public confidence in, the procurement process; repeal and replace the Zambia National Tender Board Act, 1982.
The governing Authority of this Act is the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) and shall be an independent regulatory body with responsibility for policy, regulation, standard setting, compliance and performance monitoring, professional development and information management and dissemination in the field of public procurement.
