Speaking at the ceremony in Lusaka, ZCCM-IH Board Chairperson, Mr Phesto Musonda, highlighted that the Company has paid dividends for 11 consecutive years, returning approximately K2.4 billion to shareholders since 2015.
He noted that despite a lower dividend payout for the 2025 financial year, ZCCM-IH recorded a 40% increase in investment income, reflecting returns from its mining and energy investments. He emphasised that the dividends are funded by cash generated from investments, underscoring the Company’s commitment to sustainable shareholder returns.
Mr Musonda further announced that ZCCM-IH will unveil its new ten-year strategy at the Shareholder Open Day in November 2026. The strategy will focus on expanding the Company’s investment portfolio, strengthening its presence in the mining and energy sectors, and creating greater value for shareholders and the Zambian economy
IDC Chief Finance Officer, Mr Raphael Chipoma, commended ZCCM-IH for its consistent dividend payments over the past 11 years.
“ZCCM-IH has been consistent in declaring dividends over the last 11 years. This is the kind of investment we are proud of — an investment that delivers returns and gives back to the Zambian people,” he said.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for Economic Management and Investments at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, Mr Mulele M. Mulele, said the dividend payment demonstrates the importance of prudent investment management, sound corporate governance and accountability in ensuring that Government investments generate tangible financial returns for the benefit of the Zambian people.
NAPSA Director of Investments, Mr Matete Sichizya, said the payout reinforces confidence in capital markets as a vehicle for economic growth.
“As a pension scheme, a payout like this gives us confidence in the capital markets as a vehicle for growing Zambia’s economy. We will continue to partner with ZCCM-IH and commend the Company for its consistency in dividend payments,” he said.
The dividend payments demonstrate how Zambia’s mineral and energy investments can generate financial returns that support national development, industrial growth and pension security.
