On the 10th of July 2026, ZCCM-IH Board Chairperson Mr. Phesto Musonda and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kakenenwa Muyangwa, accompanied by ZCCM-IH Senior Management, toured the Sino Great Chemicals Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP) Plant in Chilanga, where construction has reached 30% completion. The project remains on track for trial production in August 2027 and represents a major milestone in Zambia’s industrialisation agenda, strengthening local value addition and agricultural productivity.  

Once operational, the integrated facility is expected to strengthen local fertiliser production, reduce reliance on imports, promote value addition, create over 12,000 direct and indirect jobs, and contribute to sustainable economic growth. This  

investment reflects ZCCM-IH’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that unlock opportunities and deliver lasting benefits for the people of Zambia.
