On 6 May 2026, ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) officially launched a feeding programme for elderly beneficiaries under the Steps for Good Works Foundation in Kabwe, Central Province. 

The Foundation currently provides care and essential support to 180 vulnerable elderly men and women and was selected as a beneficiary under ZCCM-IH’s nationwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support initiative launched through the Company’s CSR Committee in 2025. 

The intervention aims to support vulnerable senior citizens by improving food security, health, dignity, and overall wellbeing. During the handover ceremony, ZCCM-IH donated assorted foodstuffs and adult healthcare items, including mealie meal, cooking oil, beans, kapenta, soya chunks, sugar, salt and adult diapers. 

Speaking on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kakenenwa Muyangwa, ZCCM-IH Corporate Affairs Manager Ms Loisa Mbatha said the donation reflects the Company’s commitment to impactful and sustainable CSR initiatives that address real community needs. She further emphasised the importance of meaningful partnerships in addressing social welfare challenges and promoting inclusive community development. 

Receiving the donation, Steps for Good Works Foundation Executive Director Rev. George Njovu expressed gratitude to ZCCM-IH for supporting vulnerable elderly citizens. He noted that the support comes as the Foundation celebrates five years of service to vulnerable elderly citizens in Kabwe. 

The initiative marks the beginning of a continuous journey of partnership, care and sustained impact in the lives of elderly and vulnerable members of society, reaffirming ZCCM-IH’s commitment to investing responsibly in people, dignity and hope.
